Warren Haynes is a National Treasure. My favorite guitarist and my favorite vocalist. For those not familiar with Audley Freed, be sure to check out his band from the 90's called Cry Of Love. It is a shame they did not make it big. Their sound reminded me of Bad Company on steroids.

65 years old and I grew up during BTO, and I honestly never heard this song in my life until I had to learn Randy Bachman's guitar part for a cover band. Stellar guitar work for sure. But I would like to leave a non-critical comment because this question bugs me every time we play it: Besides admiring the lead guitar, what is it about this song that ppl like so much? Is it only because it reminds them of "back in the day"? I never feel inclined to sing along, tap my foot, ponder the lyrics...the song just plods along, here's a nice deliberate part, ok here's a kinda different deliberate part that doesnt even seem related to the one before it, here's a killer guitar solo, here's some more variations on the same parts, ok heres a jazzy part... As I said, I play the song often, but it STILL hasn't hit any visceral pleasure points that make me want to do anything but memorize it for the gig. Any help?
